| Bird Call Walk | Get up with the birds! Join us before dawn and tune in to the Dawn Chorus live! |
| Dawn Bird Walk | Start your day with an early morning bird walk around the resort and surrounds |
| Beach Walk | Sea and shorebirds are often seen foraging along the sheltered shores of the Great Sandy Strait. Join us for a leisurely stroll in search of these birds and many other inhabitants of the intertidal zone. |
| Bush Tucker Walk | The island is a veritable cornucopia of edible delights for birds, marsupials, mammals and more. Come learn about our amazing bounty and how flora and fauna work together. |
| Bush Tucker Talk and Taste | Experience the tastes of the Australian bush for yourself and learn of traditional cooking and culture as you glean culinary tips from our Seabelle Chef |
| Canoe Paddle | Join our Rangers for a leisurely paddle along the Great Sandy Straits and Mangrove habitat to spot Bee-eaters, shorebirds and all manner of marine life |
| Eco Walk | Thoughtful design, award-winning architecture and landscaping in harmony with its environment characterise Kingfisher Bay. Come with us to learn all about the devil in the details and how our wildlife are benefiting. |
| Flora Walk | What plants for what birds? Learn about the ecology of the communities around the resort and what we can do to help keep it in balance |
| Forest Walk | Habitat margins are a great place to spot a wide variety of bird species. Wander the Open Eucalypt forests behind the resort in search of everything from Drongos to Raptors |
| Great Sandy Strait Walk | Hike the sanddune forest north of the resort for woodland birds and stupendous views |
| Mangrove Walk | Stroll to the mouth of Dundonga Creek to view Mangrove Honeyeaters and Kingfishers, and discover the abundance of life on the intertidal flats |
| Nightwalk | Experience the forest by night and the creatures that inhabit it. Bring a torch and worm clothes |
| K’Gari Walk | K’Gari (paradise) is what the Butchulla people called home for thousands of years, leaving behind a wealth of knowledge and stories of this great island. |
| Sunset Experience | Join fellow birdwatchers and our birding team for a glass of wine and cheese and feel the subtle changes as the sun goes down on the Great Sandy Straits |
| Wallum Walk | Explore the Wallum plant community around the resort, an area abundant with honeyeaters, fairy-wrens, reptiles and amphibians |
| Wildflower Walk | Year-round flowering includes everything from tiny lilies to majestic gums and delicate orchids strewn through the forest, heathland and beach environs. |
| Worm Farm Tour | See Kingfisher Bay’s Ecotourism principles in action as we take you on an adventure with waste, water and wonderful worms (and maybe some birds!) |

ISLAND AND HERVEY BAY TOURS |

| Natural Heritage Tour | Spectacular scenery in the centre of the island as we tour through Wallum, Eucalypt and Rainforest in search of many of Fraser’s most famed birds. A leisurely tour with plenty of time for a swim and a stroll at Lake McKenzie. Lunch and morning tea included. |
| Valley of the Giants Tour | The tallest trees remain undisturbed for over a thousand years in the magnificent Valley of the Giants rainforest, supporting a rich bird habitat. Lunch and morning tea included. |
| Indian Head Tour | Join your Ranger as you wind your way up 75 Mile Beach to visit fabulous eastern beach sites like Eli Creek, Maheno shipwreck, Coloured Sands, Indian Head and Champagne Pools. NB This tour is not specifically aimed at bird watching. |
| Inskip Point and 75 Mile Beach Tour | A gem of a tour across the island to the eastern surf beaches for migratory and other seabirds, raptors and down to the best spotting known for the Black-breasted Button-quail. Lunch, morning and afternoon tea included. |
| McKenzie’s Jetty and Z-Force Hike | South of the resort is a region rich in history, from aboriginal significant sites and logging to WWII missions. Also a great place to spot a wide variety of birds as we move through different habitats. Moderate level of fitness required. |
| RAMSAR Wetlands Cruise | Board our stunning Sailing Catamarans and discover some of the beautiful and unusual bird species of the Great Sandy Strait, including Sooty Oystercatchers, the Grey-tailed Tattler and the Red-necked Stint. Morning tea included. |
| Hervey Bay Sites Day | Lagoons, wetlands, disturbed bushland and urban environs on the mainland are home to a wealth of species not found on Fraser Island. Join our Presenters, Rangers and the Hervey Bay Birdwatching Club for this popular and always rewarding excursion. |

| ART CLASSES | Join renowned Australian Wildlife Artists Janet Flinn (Sketching and Watercolour), for hands on art workshops on Birds in their Habitats. Come for a day or more! Suitable for everyone from Beginners to Advanced. All materials provided. |
| PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS | Wild Visions Photography and Darran Leal will take you on safari over the island, through a variety of habitats, and show you tips and techniques to make your Nature Photography spectacular. Come for a day or the whole week. |
| BIRD WEEK PRESENTATIONS | Experts from around Australia share their knowledge, birding tips and stories on a range of current and timely topics. |
Rangers recommendations for walks and tours:
Water, sunscreen, insect repellent, wet weather gear, comfortable shoes / boots, swimwear. In the case of inclement weather alternative activities will be offered (but we know birdwatchers are keen in every kind of weather!)
Average daytime temperatures for May on Fraser Island range from 16 to 25 degrees Celsius. Evenings can be cool!
